job purpose

The data governance analyst’s main purpose is to assist the data governance team in the formation and execution of a data governance framework, policy, and standards. Our team  will be responsible for deploying key Data Governance processes that pertain to the sourcing, management, development and consumption of data assets across RSR. 

They help RSR to create the structure that explains clearly, simply and consistently what obligations everyone in the organisation has, regarding the treatment of data, as well as helping to define the structure that keeps the policies up to date. 

They are key to the understanding, monitoring and mitigation of our data risk. Obviously mitigation of data risk, is the responsibility of every RSR employee (in all departments of our organisation) however the DG Analysts role in this, is to agree and monitor the actions on those mitigations, making sure that the whole treatment and flow of data in our organisation works well.

 

your responsibilities

  • Assist to establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap
  • Assist in defining roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensuring clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets
  • Serve as a liaison between Business/Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in technical and business functions on privacy safeguards required in a global data environment
  • Understand and/ or implement security policies for users with appropriate access based on data classifications and roles
  • Responsible for documenting data classification rules, compliance rules, business rules and data retention rules for data in the domain, in cooperation with relevant stakeholders and actors.
  • Support the development and maintenance of an end to end data lifecycle management approach
  • Train, educate, and create awareness of data governance ensuring adoption and proper usage of tools and technologies
  • Setup & facilitate meetings as needed
  • Generate materials for a broad audience, including Data Governance information collateral (team site, information stores, etc.)

 

experience

  • 5 years experience or more in a data management/governance environment 
  • experience with compliance is a plus (e.g. data privacy, data security, regulatory, six sigma, lean or other process oriented experience)
  • experience with agile methodology is a plus

 

knowledge

  • knowledge of data governance and cybersecurity is preferred (but not mandatory)
  • working in a global organisation with multi country business is a plus
  • understanding Randstad organizational environment is a plus
