As Indirect Procurement Consultant you will work with a team to assist our client Johnson & Johnson (J&J), a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry, with the procuring, managing, and remittance processing of service contracts. Categories that you may come across in an SOW agreement could be IT, Engineering, Consultancy, R&D or Quality projects among others. Projects differ in size, but most are between € 50k till € 2mln. For these projects you will have a critical role in partnering with Business Owners and Suppliers to define and negotiate the best deal in terms of quality and price. For larger projects you will drive the Request For Proposal (RFP). Once a project has launched, you will also be responsible to guide the Business Owners and Suppliers on the invoicing process.

The SOW team consists of four people, based in Hungary and the Netherlands, and is part of a much larger and international Managed Services Program (MSP) team (approx 25 people) who service J&J on a daily basis. You will work in a hybrid schedule, partly on-site at the Randstad Sourceright office in Diemen or at the J&J’s sites and partly home office.

 

 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops relationships with Business Owners and the Procurement Department at J&J to ensure world class customer experience
  • Learns historical buying patterns, and anticipates future needs of the departments
  • Establishes and maintains a proactive, positive working relationship with stakeholders through regular phone and in-person contact (site visits as required, Covid allowing) 
  • Evaluates SOW terms and conditions for conformity and compliance against J&J contractual language and agreement structure; escalates deviations for approvals/decision making
  • Liaises with Suppliers on the SOWs’ content, pricing and terms to ensure the best deal for all parties
  • Drives RFP processes for large projects
  • Communicates programme and procedural changes and updates to engaged Supplier- and J&J-users in a timely manner and provides training where necessary
  • Manages all procurement requisition activity through use of the Vendor Management System (VMS), Fieldglass
  • Together with the SOW Admin Team, oversees use of VMS technology by all J&J and Supplier stakeholders, to ensure transaction activity is recorded within the VMS
  • Provides and analyzes standard programme reporting to stakeholders
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-3 years of experience in procurement or bid management
  • Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing in English, preferably in French as well, both in one-on-one and in group presentation settings with various levels of professionals both internal and external
  • Interested in services procurement/ indirect procurement and contract management 
  • Excited to challenge J&J and their Suppliers on the services procured, their terms, conditions and pricing
  • Ability to perform accurately in a detailed environment while being able to effectively prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to self-manage workload, set target dates, meet deadlines and follow and optimize processes to achieve optimum results
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to professionally and effectively represent the J&J and Randstad Sourceright as required
  • Ability to demonstrate high-level customer service to internal and external clients
  • Ability to effectively influence others at various levels within the organization

 

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Previous experience in services procurement/ indirect procurement
  • Knowledge of and the ability to utilize best practices in purchasing, procurement and negotiation
  • Knowledge of accounts payable and purchase order processes, and Vendor Management Systems and tools
  • French or German language skills
