The opportunity and team you’ll be working with:

RiseSmart's career transition service offers a modern alternative to conventional outplacement, focusing on swiftly securing new employment for transitioning professionals. The position of Career Coach offers a flexible, project-based opportunity. While project extensions are possible based on client requests or RiseSmart's program needs, they are not guaranteed. This setup allows contractors to immerse themselves in the RiseSmart ethos, familiarize themselves with our suite of coaching programs, and explore potential long-term engagements. We seek individuals capable of adapting to the dynamic nature of this industry, fostering flexibility, and not solely relying on a fixed number of hours from RiseSmart. 

The expectations of this job:

In your role as a Career Coach, you'll engage with participants through various mediums such as video conferencing, telephone calls, and email correspondence, offering personalized guidance and support throughout their career transition journey. Serving as a liaison to other RiseSmart service providers, you'll collaborate closely with resume writers, job lead search specialists, and technical support teams to ensure a seamless and comprehensive experience for participants.

  • Utilize expertise to mentor participants in refining their job search strategies
  • Offer mock interviews to build confidence and interview skills
  • Provide critical support in interview preparation
  • Help participants critically assess job offers
  • Guide participants in negotiating salaries
  • Teach effective networking strategies
  • Deliver comprehensive, customized assistance aligned with participants' career goals and aspirations

Experience needed for the Career Coach:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in career coaching 
  • Varied professional background, including experience in corporate settings
  • Career Coaching certification strongly recommended
  • Previous experience in agency recruiting highly desirable
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong multitasking ability
  • Skilled in building rapport and establishing connections with clients
  • Demonstrates empathy, maintains a positive demeanor, and motivates others effectively
  • Must have access to high-speed internet (Cable or DSL; satellite or dial-up not acceptable)
  • Available to work part-time hours (15-20 hours per week)
  • Proficient in Windows 8/10 or Mac OS Yosemite (or later), and latest versions of Chrome or Firefox
