Purpose of this role

Enterprise Legal takes care of the international legal aspects of operations for the global brands of Randstad, i.e. Randstad Enterprise Group, Randstad Sourceright and Randstad RiseSmart International. Having been united under one global department in 2019, Enterprise Legal is the trusted partner of these of Randstad’s global businesses and advises  in all legal matters from client contracts and vendor contracts to compliance and litigation with a well established team of lawyers to support the client contract process on global accounts.

We are a highly qualified, passionate, loyal and fun team of lawyers from different backgrounds and countries with plenty of work,  so we are waiting for you to join and make us whole.

Our work is embedded in a defined legal operating model which recognizes the importance of close collaboration with the business and other support functions, and continuous communication. Our mission statement is:

“To support informed, risk-based, decision making and operate an efficient contracting process whilst protecting the organisation's assets and reputation”.

As International Legal Counsel - APAC, you will be focused into:

Multi-country client contracts and in particular the more complex MSP and RPO work for Randstad Sourceright. While this will be mainly for APAC clients the individual is asked to assist in all multi-country contracting work, depending on availability.

The Enterprise Legal team is uniquely positioned to have a group wide view on contract matters of Randstad’s global clients.

In addition to drafting and negotiating multi-country client contracts, you will need to coordinate input from the local counsel in each country on the local country elements of a client contract.

Advising on enquiries from current accounts, either single country matters that are escalated, or on the larger multi-country accounts where information is needed in relation to a number of countries.

You will be the key coordination point, acting as a an interface between the business and local country counsel, and also between other international lawyers and those counsel - including cascading RSR templates, risk based approach, updating the knowledge base, and working to determine areas of best practice and consistency across the region in both contracting and key areas of compliance including data privacy, competition law and anti-bribery.

You will be the key coordination point, during initial onboarding and ongoing legal management of partner companies in non-Randstad countries. You will ensure that the engagement of partners in different territories take place in a compliant manner and in conformity with Randstad’s Business Principles, Policies and the Randstad Global Supplier Code.

Member of the Regional Executive Board - providing input and advice as a member of the leadership team

How you will work

Being part of an international legal function the role will involve working across time zones. You will also be asked to attend the Enterprise Legal team meetings - of which there are two a week, one on work planning and one on know-how. Whilst we will look to find a convenient time, it is likely these meetings will need to be either in the late evening or early morning, APAC time zones.

The successful candidate will need to align to the Randstad Enterprise values:

Agility to navigate in a complex, rapidly changing, global business environment. Demonstrate confidentiality, discretion & judgement, enthusiasm and self-motivation.

Excellent communication skills both oral and written, at appropriate levels, in providing advice to clients, managers and staff.

Intellectual strength to handle drafting and negotiating global (multi-country) client contracts and be interested in all aspects of a business, and able to negotiate pricing schedules

Lead the business through generating practical options to complex problems, working within the organisation’s risk appetite,  and generally be “counsel” to the business colleagues.

You will have a passion for ensuring the performance of the overall sales organisation and profitable achievement of the organisation’s sales goals.

Excellent execution through careful drafting and review, picking out key points and liaising with all relevant partners for input

Connect  to identify potential for synergies across the business and build commitment to achieve shared goals. Thriving on working with people that represent a mix of backgrounds, insights and perspectives.
